23.10.16 The long way to Argentinia

I´m sitting in a bus about to leave Rosario and with it Argentina. My stop will be Fray Bentos in Uruguay and this will be the first stop of my travel in South America. After visiting my friends in Chile for a month I wanted to make a stop in Argentina before starting in Uruguay for real. This last four days I spend in Rosario to visit a very nice family who I met couchsurfing their house 3 years ago. I´m happy I could stay there again, but it´s time to leave this country now, as it will not be part of my travel this time.

I left Chile from Los Andes at the 19th by bus to cross the border in the Andes to Argentina. First the bus was 1,5 hours late, then we needed quick 5,5 hours at the border it self. I´m used to wait in South America, but that was even here very long. As I finally arrived in Mendoza I had 15 minutes to figure out which bus to take, get money, buy the ticket and get in the bus. The ATM didn´t wanted to give me money so I had to buy the ticket with my visa card. In the end it costed me around 130€ and 20 hours to arrive in Rosario, where I had to pay 6€ at the ATM to finally get Argentinian pesos. Next time I fly.

And wow, I could feel Chile is more or less German price level now, but Argentina... - Super caro! I´m not expecting Uruguay is gonna be cheaper, but I have hope for the bus prices.

I spend my days here going out and meeting very nice people, having Argentinian asado (BBQ) and feeling very much at home. Now I´m leaving the comfort zone of the known to he new and unknown Uruguay. But of course as always I´m super exited.
