In the morning of March 29th I arrived in Bangkok.
Just as I was standing in front of the passport control, it came to my mind mind that I made a mistake: I booked a flight to Delhi, but till the 2. May are more than 30 days. This is when I panicked for a bit. But I was lucky and no one asked. So I left the airport with Chrissy, who was getting me. So good to not enter this city alone. Even the flight was good, I didn't found a lot of sleep, as the last weeks. So we just chilled a bit and went to eat some. As well I got a thai chip card.
As I feared, Thai is very strange and I speak to everyone Spanish, instead of English at least.
For the evening I want to meet up with my couchsurfer, as Chrissy was heading to Bali. But the Tuk-Tuk driver and I couldn't find the address and the cell number she gave me was wrong. Even Chrissy was giving her best to contact her, after 3 hours searching and waiting I went to search a hostel. Not as easy as it seems in a strange city without mobile internet or a guide, or at least people speaking English. After a while I found a tourist area, but the wrong one. Cause there have just been expensive hotels. So after 5 hours with my backpack I gave up at 1 am and took the cheapest room for 20 euros. There I tried to find a couchsurfer for the next day. Welcome to Bangkok!
Just before the check-out Maurice called me and instructed the way to his place. Just when I arrived we went to his volunteer work at his catholic church. English class with Thais. Than he made some rice with chicken and I got a crash course in the Thai and African kitchen. Maurice is from Cameroon and professional soccer player in Bangkok. Right now with a lot of time cause of his knee. After I planed my next days, and figured out how to solve my visa problem, we went in a bar to meet a friend. After african punctuality, suddenly I found myself in the middle of 10 black guys from Cameroon in a bar in Thailand. At least now the language was more familiar to me. At some point Maurice and I went to the famous Khao San Road. After a lot of looking and a beer our faked identifications have been ready. I didn't want to try the insects yet, as my stomach and I have to get used to the spicy food first. In a funny mood we left to a Hip Hop club to meet the others. That's how I ended up dancing all night with african people. Cape town feeling included. Even if I slept long, I still feel tired, which might be cause by the sticky 38 degrees and the yet lag. In the evening I left Bangkok to head to Ayutthaya.
38 degrees OMG you must be crazy grumpy kat!!! crazy nights eh!!
